1. Core Principles & Who Operates Bible Break
Bible Break is created and operated by Web Dev NC ("we," "our," or "us"). We believe personal Bible reading, reflection, and mindful screen breaks should be sacred, calm, and private.
Our commitment to privacy is absolute:
- No User Accounts: You do not need to register with an email address, password, phone number, or social login to read Scripture or run the timer.
- No Advertising SDKs: Bible Break is completely ad-free. We do not integrate ad networks, ad trackers, or advertising identifier collectors.
- No Third-Party Analytics: We do not track what passages you read, how long you meditate, or your daily reading schedule using behavioral analytics SDKs.
- Offline-First Design: The bundled Scripture text (King James Version) resides directly in the app. Reading and searching Scripture require no internet connectivity.
2. Information Stored Locally On Your Device
To provide a tailored reading and reminder experience, Bible Break saves certain configuration settings and reading data directly within your device's private app storage (using Android's local SharedPreferences and internal application files):
- Reading Progress & History: The current book, chapter, and verse you last read, allowing you to resume smoothly.
- Bookmarks, Highlights, and Notes: Any verses you mark as favorites, highlight in color, or annotate with personal thoughts.
- Reading Plan Data: Your schedule and completed chapters if you follow a guided reading plan.
- Timer Settings: Your configured break intervals (e.g., every 20 minutes), reflection duration, chime sound preferences, and strict-mode selections.
- Timer Statistics: Aggregated break counts and minutes paused, calculated and stored exclusively on your device to show you your habit consistency.
- Pause Apps List: If you use the optional "Pause during selected apps" feature, the package names of apps you choose to whitelist are stored locally.
This information never leaves your device and is never uploaded to any remote server owned or operated by Web Dev NC.
3. Information We Never Collect
Unlike conventional cloud apps, Bible Break does not collect, sell, or monitor any of the following:
- Personal Identifiable Information (name, email address, physical address, phone number).
- Precise or coarse GPS location data.
- Contacts, SMS messages, phone call records, or photos.
- Audio recordings, microphone input, or camera feeds.
- Hardware identifiers such as IMEI, MAC address, or Android Advertising ID (AAID).
- Browsing history or keyboard keystroke logs.
4. Android Device Permissions & Legitimate Use
To function as an effective screen-break reminder and overlay while respecting Android's system architecture, Bible Break requests specific platform permissions. Each permission has an explicit, limited purpose:

5. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
Bible Break offers an optional Bible Break Premium upgrade (available as an auto-renewing subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase) that provides advanced timer customization, custom reflection sets, and widgets.
All financial transactions are conducted directly through Google Play Billing. Web Dev NC never collects, processes, or stores your credit card number, debit card number, bank account details, or billing address. Google Play shares only an anonymized transaction receipt and entitlement status with the app to verify your Premium status.
Your purchase is governed by Google Play's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time within the Google Play Store app under Payments & subscriptions.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
Because Bible Break does not maintain user accounts or cloud databases, we do not store copies of your bookmarks, reading notes, or usage patterns on our servers.
Your control over your data is complete:
- Clearing Data: You can clear your bookmarks, notes, or history inside the app or by navigating to your phone's Settings > Apps > Bible Break > Storage > Clear Data.
- Uninstalling the App: Uninstalling Bible Break from your Android device immediately and permanently erases all locally stored preferences, notes, bookmarks, and statistics from the device.
- No Residual Records: Because we keep no remote database records of your account or usage, no further deletion request is required.
7. Third-Party Services & Hosting
We work with trusted platform partners strictly to deliver the software:
- Google Play Services: Delivers application updates, handles billing verification, and provides system compatibility.
- Firebase Hosting: This informational website (
biblebreak.webdevnc.com) is hosted via Google Firebase Hosting. Firebase may log standard, transient technical request data (such as IP address, browser user-agent, and requested page URL) for routing, security, and anti-abuse purposes. No tracking cookies or advertising pixels are deployed on this site.
8. Children's Privacy
Bible Break is a family-safe, respectful utility suitable for general audiences. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in applicable jurisdictions). Because no personal information is requested or collected from any user, Bible Break complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and international child privacy frameworks.
